The ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition
The ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition is held annually between each collegiate team throughout the country. We adhere to a new set of guidelines set in place every year by ASCE and the Metropolitan Student Symposium. Each team must design, mix, mold, and cast their canoe during the academic year. Students learn how to test and mix their own concrete samples, giving them an understanding of how it's done in industry. Then during the Symposium, we compete against other universities and race our canoe in the water. Whoever can row the canoe as required and has their canoe stay intact throughout the race wins, and makes it to nationals! Click the links to learn more about the competition and rules.
